Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Anyone ever been to Koningsdad (King's Day) in Amsterdam?

No luck in GD so I thought I'd try here...

Have a week's vacation coming up in April to Europe. Checking around it seems like the on event/festival going on in Western Europe is Koningsdad. I've been to Amsterdam before so that part I'm familiar with - just wondering if this is an amped up party or a crowd-cluster where it takes two hours in line to get a beer and some fries?

Having said that you should have a blast there. Just make sure you have hotel reservations because its insanely busy but should be a lot of fun. Dont expect to be ale to drive into Amsterdam (or any city center) on that day.

Thanks for the info. Got my travel dates approved and a hotel booked near Central Station.
