Similar arrangements are fairly common. There are Swedish cops stationed in Thailand for example.

The effect is that a drunk German (for example ) will be more likely to listen to a German LEO than a Dutch LEO, thus a lot of situations can be deescalated and that usually has the preference.

Yeah here in Paris we're getting quite a lot of Chinese tourists. It seems the ones who get a travel permit to leave China are somewhat loaded as they usually end up at the Galleries Lafayette to load up on overpriced Vuitton, YSL, Chanel stuff. Chinese tariffs on that crap seem pretty hardcore making the price in Euros in Paris seem cheap to them.
Lots of other shops in that area to help them part with all that evil/capitalist money.

But it seems our local thugs and gangbangers have taken notice of the huge amounts of cash these lovely gents carry with them. And in France there's no threat of a bullet to the back of your head (paid by your crying momma) if you were to steal said wads of cash.

It seems the French Ministry of Tourism has knocked at the French Interior Ministry's door to let them know they should fix this ongoing shit very quickly (at least in the square kilometer where our Chinese guests would like to shop) and also get some Chinese cops to work as interpreters. Some of our cops have trouble with French. A French cop speaking English usually looks like a stand-up routine. Chinese ? Bwahahaha
