Anyone going to the opening today?
|
|
I was in the area and stopped in to check it out. They seemed to have a decent selection but it was packed they had line just to get in the place. I wasn't willing to fight the crowd to look at any guns. They had ammo but it was limited to 2 boxes. I'll check it out later when things calm down, I'm getting picky with which local businesses I'm willing to support.

|
Yeah went to check it out about 10am and a HUGE line waiting to get into the place... I don't need/want anything bad enough to wait in that line... I'll check it out later as well. Ended up going to branch at Golden Pride with the Family! :)

It was very busy!
I got there at 0730 and didn't leave until 2015. It was super-busy but yes, we still have ammo and guns. Oh yeah, I'm working there in several capacities. I picked up a Glock 20SF too and we still have one. We have several rifles from Black Rifle Company and they are very impressive. Stop by and say hello sometime. Thanks, Lee |

I went by today while I was out. Nice shop, I liked it. I bought a beretta pistol frame for one of my hydrographic displays and gave them a few of my cards. I was excited to see .308 ammo, them I remembered I sold my .308...

Does anyone know if they have a website? Yeah, the website is sparse and under construction. We're working on it. Thanks, Lee |

Omni is currently open Monday through Saturday, 0900 to 1900.
Was offered the position of store manager today and accepted. Yes, we will be an ARFCOM-friendly business. Gonna need some suggestions from the HTF about what to carry. I invite all of you to stop by and offer feedback. Thanks, Lee |

Thanks, Lee Take this with for what its worth as this is coming from an AR15 Forum, but I think a person should be able to walk into a gun shop and walk out with everything they need to build an AR15. I know you can't carry everything but to carry basic mil spec parts for the AR15 doesn't seem too cost intensive. Just my 2 cents. |

Nick (99HMC4) came in and showed me a couple of examples of his great work.
I see a partnership in our future... -Lee |

BTW, we have our SOT and have Surefire and AAC cans en route.
We also have a real-deal, classically-trained, gunsmith (CQW) on staff. There is no substitute for careful hand-work. -Lee |

Finally got to pop in with my father who purchased a Sig Ultra last week. Nice store, friendly staff. Great selection. One of the few times I was able to glance around a store without a mouthbreather pointing a gun at me.
That's always a huge plus. |

I guess I'll have to stop by once I get back in town. That membership sounds like a killer deal! A question about it though. Does that apply to a single person, or is something you can bring one person with you, or maybe a discounted fee for members to bring "guests"? Just a thought!
I might need some small parts to finish my current build so hopefully you might have what I need! I Why does all the good stuff have to be so far from Rio Rancho! ;) Alex |

We will have family and group rates.
If you need small parts by the piece we can do that, too. Thanks, Lee |

Lee,
I had heard that FNH offered a MIL/LE discount on their products through their authorized dealers. Is this true and are you offering that deal? I have been to your store a few times and it is one of the few places that sells 168gr .308. Awesome. |

This is something we'll have to research. Please be patient with us. Thanks, Lee |

I just spent a very unpleasant week up there in Abq. My 2 year old boy had surgery. It didn't go quite as smoothly as we had hoped so we were stuck for the week. The wife and I rotated shifts at the hospital while the other rested in our hotel room. Anyway, I wanted to stop by but just wasn't in the cards. Post surgery follow up is beginning of April. Hopefully I can stop in then.

Lee,
Thanks for helping me out with the lower and LPK yesterday. Great shop. Allen |

I'll be stopping in tomorrow I think, hopefully y'all can help me out with getting this GD upper assembled. I'm also lookin' for a new handgun, maybe, so there's that too. Hopefully I can support a local business that employs arfcommers...

Rainier Select barrel doesn't want to penetrate virgin VLTOR VIS3 receiver. Barrel extension to receiver fit is very tight, and even with grease and hot/cold resistance is crazy. Due to upper's construction, getting good purchase on the barrel is hard, plus when I tried assembling it (multiple times) I did not realize that I forgot to slip the barrel nut on beforehand and would not have been able to tighten the barrel down (IDK if you've played with any VIS uppers, but they have a lower hand guard section that can be removed for grenade launcher use; the posts that index this section when a grenade launcher is not being used get in the way of just sliding the barrel nut on after the barrel has been fully and properly inserted into the receiver.)
tl;dr resistance from barrel extension when being inserted into receiver, even after multiple attempts, due to really close tolerances. |

Just picked up a G42 from Omni Arms yesterday. Thanks, Lee.
Now, to keep it hidden from the wife. I know when she gets ahold of it, it will be hers. |
