THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I'm employed by a State University in NM but work out of state in Fl and VA. Since my employer is in NM I have state tax deducted from my pay check every pay period at the 4.9% rate.

Questions....will I get any of that money back or does the state keep it all even though I don't live in NM?

I am not a tax professional.

If you worked in nm, don't you have to file in nm?
If so, you may have additional expenses to write off such as travel expenses.
I imagine it would also depend on your total income.
YMMV

Good luck.

Some states refund all state tax monies if you dont reside in the state. Just wondering is nm is one of them?
