Time to put in your applications for big game hunts in New Mexico. Deadline is March 28th at 5:00 p.m. Anyone else rolling the dice this year? I have apps in for elk, deer, javelina, oryx and ibex. I'll also buy some lottery tickets for the Valles Caldera.

Gonna do some turkey scouting next weekend and hopefully find some sheds.

I put in for the Pronghorn near the VLA.
Owning an AR-15 has been a dream of mine, since I was a sperm in my dad's balls!

That should be a good hunt. Always see a lot of speed goats out there. That area is one of my favorite areas to hunt. Just haven't been there in a while. Used to run into coveys of Merriam's quail in the transition areas between foothills and mountains. That is a bird that does not like to get up and move.

Cow elk and deer in unit 34 again this year. Last year I got a deer and my dad got an elk (I shot at an elk the next day and missed )

Did not apply in 34, but am planning on spending a good bit of time down there hunting pigs. Have seen some great deer come out of there.

Let me know if/where you find some pigs around there. My dad and I have been wanting to shoot some but have never seen any in the places we hunt.

Put in for javelina and chupacabra.

Didn't see either one this year.

Check on Central downtown Alb. on weekends, especially on holidays.

Drive out to Cloud Country (a few miles past Cloudcroft) and take the state road heading South. Trust me, you will see lots of sign.

ETA: The area around Bear Canyon Lake (before you get to Weed) and all the areas around the Penasco river are full of hawgs, too.
So. How's that Hope and Change workin' for ya'???
