That should be a good hunt. Always see a lot of speed goats out there. That area is one of my favorite areas to hunt. Just haven't been there in a while. Used to run into coveys of Merriam's quail in the transition areas between foothills and mountains. That is a bird that does not like to get up and move.

Cow elk and deer in unit 34 again this year. Last year I got a deer and my dad got an elk (I shot at an elk the next day and missed

Drive out to Cloud Country (a few miles past Cloudcroft) and take the state road heading South. Trust me, you will see lots of sign. ETA: The area around Bear Canyon Lake (before you get to Weed) and all the areas around the Penasco river are full of hawgs, too. |
