This economy has been hard on everyone (even old people have to have jobs nowadays). He was probably in Southeast Asia in the late 60's and early 70's. Ask him about it. Maybe he'll have some cool stories for ya. I worked with this old guy one time who was in Vietnam in 62' or 63', living with the Montagnard. He told me this cool story of coming under sniper fire during a recon mission. He had recently received a Winchester 1897 trench gun in an air drop, along with some new shells for it called Flechette rounds. When they came under sniper fire, he hide behind a fallen tree, one of the locals told him he thought that the fire was coming from a tree to their left. He worked his way closer to the tree and pinpointed the enemy position, counting shots all the while. When he thought that the enemy was reloading, he jumped up and let go with 5 Winchester 1897 flechette rounds as fast as he could pump the action. He jumped, shot and dropped in less then 10 seconds. Then he heard something falling through the tree tops! Then a large thud on the ground! When they walked up to the body of the enemy sniper, he said it looked like he was put through a meat grinder! He said blood was dropping out of the tree for an hour after the event. That night at dinner, the tribal leader wanted that Winchester 1897 and traded him a newly CIA supplied M16 for it, which he then traded for an M14. Funny story! |

The frame tool assembly fell out of my M&P .40 Saturday while shooting. Too bad I didn't notice it untill today. I just spent about 30 minutes on hold with S&W customer service so I could pay eight dollars shipping on a $1.50 part.
