Dave didn't give a reason, but he specifically used the word fired, and said he doesn't know what will be on the air tomorrow.

They were quick to change their program guide also!  Going to be interesting to here the full details if they eve come out.  I can see Jack and Dave stepping on someone toes but Bob has always been too conservative and always walking on egg shells to burn no ones feelings.

Morning and afternoon commute being paid programming? That won't last.

I see that Geraldo is no longer in the line up. I never really cared for Bob Steele and once Beck was booted for Geraldo, I stopped listening to KARN altogether. Dave Elswick was pretty good years ago though. I was pleased when he booted "Big Dave." It sucked that he did it at Christmas time, but I was glad when "The Big Dave Show" was gone. Now, it looks like he is booted.

How much do you want to be that Mr Elswick lands over at 96.5FM?

For the record, I am sure that Mr Heinritz(sp?) is a fine fellow, but he sucked as a news director and on air talent.

With paid programming being placed into the premium time slots, it is obvious that this firing was a spur of the moment decision. If it had been planned, there would have been proper programing lined up in advance. Or one would presume anyway.

Seems to be typical of Cumulus. Slash and burn anyone making decent money and hope it balances out. He'll be missed, as for the rest of their programming I actually listen too, it can and will be had elsewhere.  News radio has to be a tough business right now too many alternate ways to get news, and too many alternate ways to get "radio". Dave was the one local news source I aligned with though. I didn't always agree with Dave but he most certainly had his heart in it. Bob Steele was old talent living on nothing but name recognition. No loss there.
