My friend wants a companion to travel across the state to go to the VA hospital.
Can someone recommend a motel room near the VA that will allow a well behaved big dog?
We can leave him with my dad, but he will have enough to do taking care of our old blind dog.

You need to call the hotels you are interested in and see what their policy is on pets.  You might have problems with a large dog.
