Final reading of Ernie Chamber' bill to ban Mountain Lion hunting is tomorrow. Even if you don't care one way or the other the bigger issue here is Racist Ernie's ability to bully the Legislature into doing whatever he wants. He's threatened to hold up all Game & Parks funding if this doesn't pass and he's stated he will retaliate against anyone who opposes him. It's time our elected officials stand up to this bully.

Time to contact the Governor. Here's what I wrote:

I am writing to urge you to veto LB617, which would outlaw Mountain Lion hunting. Management of our natural resources should be left to the experts at Game & Parks, not to the whims of a Senator from Omaha. They believe the Mountain Lion population should be managed by hunting, and I trust their opinion far more than that of Ernie Chambers.

Even more important than the fate of mountain lion hunting is Senator Chambers' continued bullying of the Legislature. He has threatened to hold up funding for Game & Parks if this is not passed, including funding for handicapped accessibility. He has also threatened to retaliate against those few Senators who had the courage to oppose him. Why is one man allowed to control the entire Legislature? I sincerely hope you will do the right thing and veto this bill, as well as work with other Senators to stand against Ernie Chambers and his destructive behavior.

Word is that the Governor is leaning towards vetoing this bill, but it's not a sure thing. We need everyone to contact him!

I just called and
talked to the nice lady answering the phone. It's easy to do - just
briefly state why you're asking him to veto it, be polite, and thank her
for passing on the message.

Mine is Coash. He voted for the bill so I assume he'll vote to override, but you never no. I'm really disappointed in him. He's been a good senator up until now. I wonder what Ernie is holding over his head.

Also, he's trying to attach it as an amendment to LB799, an unrelated insurance bill

Call your senators and the speaker AGAIN!
