THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Two Project Appleseed shoots are scheduled in Iowa on August 18-19. One near Shenandoah, and one recently added in Ames. Please take advantage of this opportunity for some fantastic training and education. For those unfamiliar with Project Appleseed you can learn more here. For more information on what to bring, go here. If you have questions about the project or what to bring, feel free to contact me as well. Remember, women, youth under 21, and current MIL or LEO shoot free. For everyone else, it's quite reasonable and worth every penny. Below is a brochure on the Ames shoot and info on the Shenandoah shoot as well. Ames Appleseed Shenandoah Appleseed |

I thought I'd add a couple of tidbits to help explain Project Appleseed a bit further.

Appleseed is very much worth it if anyone is wondering. You'll learn more about precision trigger control, sight alignment and stable holds than you ever thought possible. Nothing tactical and they don't pretend to be at all, just back to basics precision shooting.

I did an Appleseed shoot last year. It was a great program before the loyalty oaths for instructors, questionable history and other top level hijinks.

It's still a good program with quality people at the ground level. The organization has some issues at the top that need addressed but none of that seems to have affected the mission at ground level other than driving off some great instructors leaving regional holes. I still wouldn't hesitate to recommend Appleseed to anyone wanting to learn how to shoot better. |
