I am in Texas and I want to gift a little bolt action rimfire rifle to my minor granddaughter. I had planned on making a trip to Anchorage for her birthday this year, but several things have conspired to make that impossible this year.
This rifle belonged to my grandfather, was handed down to my mom, and then passed to me. My granddaughter turns 12 soon and I want her to learn to shoot with it. I don't know Alaska gun laws, but I assume it will need to be transferred to one of her parents (this is an open adoption and I am not related to her adoptive parents) . The rifle was made in 1944 and does not have serial number...I'm not sure if that complicates this transfer.
Can anyone suggest an FFL in or around Anchorage that will handle this type of transfer?
Thanks in advance.
