How is the sheriff in North star Borough in regards to signing form 1's and 4's?

A Sherriff?  When I went to lower 48 for the first time and heard "Sherriff," I expected to see the Dukes of Hazzard to come flying by.

Alaska has no office called "Sherriff."  That is a legacy of dividing up Alaska into Judicial Districts, I think.

The chief LEO outside the city limits are the state troopers.  Inside the city limits, local cops.

In Wasilla, when getting my C&R, it was a 10 minute in and out signing at the trooper office in Palmer.  I'm not sure how Fairbanks is nowadays but it was a problem in Los Anchorage.  One of "Machine Gun George" Weurch's first acts as mayor a few years ago was to fire the local Chief of Police as he refused to sign off these forms.

Isn't is now state law that the local LEO office has 30 days to process the forms?  There should be no problems what so ever and if there are we have a few state reps that will raise a stink if there are.
