I have a Garand with a badly pitted barrel. Are there any good smiths in the Anchorage or South Central area who can do the job properly? I tried the search function but wasn't smart enough to search only for Alaska area gunsmiths. I have a Criterion barrel and just need the barrel replaced and the gun checked over. Thanks

One of the best service rifle smiths in the country is our own Craig Parker. I don't have contact info for him, but he can be found at Birchwood half the time it seems, on the 200 yard range, or through the Alaska highpower crowd.

It does not take much to replace an M1 barrel. I've done so myself a few times. But yeah, he certainly can give your rifle a good once-0ver.

The gunsmith that Steve at Alaska Tactical uses did mine. Seems to be fine.
