THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT we have all been up there a few times but we want to do something different. so any suggestions would be great. we dont know much of anywhere but anchorage. so advice would be great. where to go where not to go? best fishing places? any gun shows? any good/cheap deep sea fishing? any help would be great yes we are tourist but we are the adventure type. our dates are 11-14 be in anchorage 14-16 go to homer 17-20 back in anchorage 21-26 drive north? (we have a camper rented for 6 or 7 days) my uncle lives in anchorage so we have a place to stay there we have a cabin rented in homer but not sure if its where we want to stay(not cheap) then the camper thanks in advance for the help |

Alaska State Fair. Really fun and some great food too maybe stop by the Kepler Bradley lake system while youre out that way and catch some grayling.

You have entirely too much Anchorage on your itinerary
The silvers should be running in Valdez while you're here and the drive down there is beautiful (particularly that time of year) Other than that I got nothing. I'll be moose/caribou hunting in the subsistence areas during part of that time but you have to be a resident of a remote area to do that. |

Just got back from Anchorage. Try the tram in Girdwood, which will get you on a beautiful drive south along the water. For eating, we enjoyed Snow City Cafe, Simon and Seafort's, and Jimmy's Sushi.
