Would much rather see a chicfila or something. I wonder what this will do to Sportsman's business...

Buying stuff from the ones in the 48 their prices are very high. The bargain cave has some good deals though on ammo when they get it.
5 Guys burgers would be nice. |

The stuff I bought from Cabelas was brands I could get anywhere, or junk with there name on it.
I am not sure i am that big of a Cabelas fan. I also don't like chains much, well maybe IHOP when I am getting the family on the road and need to fill bellies to capacity so we can make same miles, but otherwise... |

mmm PF Chang Not sure what you are basing that on. I went toa Cabela's down in Texas when I was there for a three gun match in April and damn that store was great. Huge selection, great prices much better than the Sportsmans up here. Pat |

To be fair, they may scale the stores based on the population of the region they're in, so I don't know if all Cabela's (or Sportsman's Warehouses for that matter) are created equal. I hate how the local shops up here do not keep up with the times. I remember a few years back having to tell one store owner about Pmags so he could get them for our department instead of the mags he sold us that did not work. I hate not being able to get the ammunition I want. I hate having sales men trying to selling what they have in stock instead of what you want. That is why I pretty much only buy things on line now except for powder, primers and ammo. What I saw at Cabelas down south would allow me to purchase more in person and less on line. Pat |

Pat I'm with you on that! 90% of what I buy is online now. For the most part all the local stores I go into always have higher prices, lame selections and with rare exceptions, an attitude about what they "know" I want versus what I really want. While I do frequent Sportsmans often, mostly just to wander around or see what's on sale, I make it a point to hit any Cabelas or Bass Pro every time I'm in the lower 48. They always have better selections, better prices and the stores are much nicer to wander around. It's the environment they create - much better than Sportsmans that took a big square cube, stuck some mounts on the wall and called it good. I'm looking forward to it. |
