Thanks again guys.  I did the net search I should have done before posting my original post.  I hadn't done it earlier because I just didn't realize it was that widespread.  It is pretty cool that the DNR has the Iowa Scholastic Clay Target Program.

This is Iowa, there are still some schools that excuse kids for hunting and advise students to keep the guns in the vehicles out of sight and secured.

Clear lake does also. And a little off subject. I went to school in Quincy, IL and we had a rifle team. Had an actual range in the basement of the jr high and shot against other schools and military academies. IL......no shit.

Trap has been the fastest growing high school sport for several years now.  We have four teams that use our club.  Note that it's almost entirely trap, very few high schools shoot skeet.  Many more trap fields in this state than skeet fields.

It's huge.

Just show up at the Ankeny Ikes on Tuesday night after 5:30 and before 7:00 p.m. and you can find an adult who will talk to you about either the Hawks or Jaguars team.

I don't know if you're still looking for this info, but Ballard (Huxley, Slater, Cambridge, Kelley) Schools does too - Ballard Clay Bombers, started up ~2yrs ago.  I had the privilege of being one of the assistant coaches for their first year when they needed a higher ratio of coaches to athletes.  I can get you contact info for the head coach at Ballard if you are still after that info, let me know.

I am good to go.  The kids are just waiting for the administration to make a decision.

Nice.  I take it you're looking to start a club in your school district?  Good for you if so.  It really is a cool sport and it's AWESOME seeing kids skills improve and how proud they are.  Be prepared for more girls to sign up than you anticipated.
