But I am of the mindset that I'd prefer to not do any more paperwork and submit anymore finger prints than I have to. Not to mention, the $250 could be put towards an extra .22 can.

I've been thinking about similar. Buy a solvent trap, keep it as a solvent trap. Change things if the bill goes through, submit paperwork if it doesn't. That way if it goes our way, the bill's passage is shorter than NFA wait and if it doesn't I can still start paperwork.

Would that effectively make a Form 1 can a diy muzzle device with no paperwork? Just buy the parts?

The tax credit is for if you buy a tax stamp between the time the bill is introduced and the day it passes. Then the tax stamps go away.

So there's no harm in starting a form 1 at least.

That's from what I read, could be wrong.

Got the glorious text today that not one, but two of my stamps made their way to Septic's.

Now if I could just pin him down on a time. Supposed to be 50 degrees this weekend!!

Congrats. I keep hoping for the same text. Sadly it may be summer before I get mine.

Don't fret, I have cans that I bought BEFORE July and never got around to submitting... and now have procrastinated about the process, so the cans I bought FIRST will come in.... about December, 2017. Hah

What was your check cashed date for these? May?
Link Posted: 2/9/2017 2:14:27 PM EDT
Did them through silencershop, so no idea on when ATF actually took payment.

However my form 4's were "submitted" 4/29 and 5/4, so I'd venture a guess at saying yes, cashed in May.

Sadly with the changes with 41F/P and the timing of when we were allowed by our overlords the chance to wait in line for permission I could not find anything I wanted until almost the last minute.

With the rush I don't expect to see or hear anything until August or later. Which while it sucks to put down cash and have to wait a year plus I did it with the expectation that was going to be the case.

Stamp #2 showed up yesterday! Form 4 individual was mailed 06/13/16.
Since its my 2nd rimfire can I'm half tempted to let it sit there for a couple months to see if HPA passes, that way I can cancel for a guaranteed $200 refund even if that part gets dropped from the bill. I won't shoot it much until it really warms up anyway.

Waiting sucks

Congrats! Im waiting for 3 more at rhine. A m4-2000 went pending 6/6/16 so hopefully close for that one. My first 2 took 19days from approval to stamp received at rhine group. All of them are on a trust and the first guy to get his took 9 days or so approved to pickup and was filed individual. I know its a crapshoot as to when youll see the stamp but those guys will call you right away...they're good like that!
