Crossroads shooting sports in Johnston just opened, or is opening soon. I believe I heard something about one coming to Clive also.

Crossroads is currently selling memberships. The range has a few tweaks that need to be done yet. There are rumors of a range in Clive. There is also one going into Boone. At one time someone was discussing one in the Pleasantville area.

The clive one said they might open in the summer. The Johnston one keeps pushing the opening date back.
Both thought they would be open last fall but keep pushing it back. Crossroads is $20 for range fees. |

Does anyone else remember WestRange, in Urbandale, circa 1993? Years ago, at least, the conventional wisdom was that the Des Moines Area shooting population was not large enough to support an indoor range.

We have one in Ames, there's one in Marshalltown, CR has one, maybe two now, Dubuque, Bettendorf had one years ago, no idea if its still around. Someone is opening one in the Coralville/North Liberty area. The club in West Liberty had one but I think that burned down a year or two ago. I don't know if they rebuilt or not. I'm sure there are others out there, most seem to keep a low profile. |

i spent most of the evening there last night...
i doubt any of you have EVER seen anything like this. quantico and a handful of agency ranges have this kind of tech in their lanes, but nobody open to the public has anything like this within 800 miles... this place is gonna be worth your time...

Honestly I'm too cheap to shoot any of my ammo...let alone pay to go shoot somewhere. Those that know me are shaking their head in agreement right now.
Maybe someday I'll stop by there and check it out this winter so I can refer it to others if they ask about it.

I'm heading out to check out Crossroads tomorrow with my dad. He hasn't shot his Glock in over 5 years. should be a fun day.
Do they allow AR's at Crossroads? He's never shot one, and it would be fun to swing him more strongly towards the pro 2A side. Yes, he's pretty much a Fudd. |
