THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT ga. shotty that my FIL gave me before he passed. (One of several cool old guns he gave me.) Cleaned it up real nice and pretty...the cleaner works pretty good. Stripped it all the way down, to get all of the years of what reminds me of dirt mixed with old motor oil, made into mud, that was in all of the smallest nooks and crannies. (I don't think he cleaned them but every other century or so.) Been trying for the last hour or so to get the bolt and ejector/ejector spring combo back into the receiver. PISSING ME OFF!! The bolt assembly goes in first, THEN the ejector combo. Just in case you wanted to know...

LOL, anyone who is around guns long enough can give you a story similar to this. And anyone who says they haven't walked into a gunsmith with a bag of parts asking for help is a lying.

I have a springfield model 67c that I tore apart 5 or 6 years ago to replace the firing pin, Couldn't locate a pin locally and still have it torn apart.

R Came close to that last week. Marlin 1895 that I took apart a couple weeks ago then had to leave before I could put it back together. When I started I got a little freaked out but then it started coming back to me. |
