Talked to Blue Collar Tactical in Sioux Falls and ordered my Gen 4 Glock MOS.  $605.00 out the door, picking it up Tuesday

Also ordered a bunch of parts for it last night.

Blue Collar has some of the best prices around.  He was really big on Facebook until trolls started reporting him.  Haven't been to Gunway yet but been meaning to check it out also.

I skipped it this year.  I can get better prices online including ship and don't have to deal with the OB and craft shit.

Went today. Wasn't crowded. Prices are high. Found a couple scopes I was tempted by, but didn't buy anything.

Did find a guy to install a muzzle brake for us.

Getting out Tuesday to check out the Beresford range. Hopefully I get time to do the trigger on my 19 before then.  Picked up a Burris Fastfire 3 this weekend that I can't wait to try out!

I don't even think our new rifle, bought used, was ever sighted in. Bore sight at 50 yards showed it way off. It is a package Savage rifle that I know hasn't had the Nikon scope from the factory removed. My wife wanted to shoot it before I tore it apart. Hit the 1" dot at 50 on her third shot. Hit the 1" dot at 100 on her first. I shot once at 100 and was 6" low.

She is in love with the thing. Fast and flat makes her happy.

Tear it down tonight. The Nikon goes on a Ruger we will sell, and the Leupold from the Ruger heads back to them for a CDS MOA dial. DNZ mount and a neoprene scope cover are on the way.

Shot at the Beresford gun range last night, nice little range. Only $35.00 a year.

Who's ready for the snow?

I'm ready for a day and a half of rain with a dusting of snow to follow.

I should mention that I do have a near perfect record of being wrong on the weather. I have actually apologized to Shawn Cable from inside a tent at 2am on the shore of Lake Oahe. Should know better than to taunt the weather gods.

Just a 100 yard range, quite a few lanes and nice plywood target stands.  They also have a 25 yard range.

Overall the range was really clean.

Nice. Really leaning towards the range at Humboldt. They go to 600. Probably max range for my equipment.

Hunters Pointe has a kick ass range, one of the only places I know of that has steel to shoot at consistently.  But I have a hard time paying a membership fee, and a fee each time you want to shoot there.  Still a great place to shoot though!

I remember that now. Yearly fee and daily fee. Looked on their site to see what it costs, but it is pretty devoid of information.

Wish I lived closer to the Badlands. Talk about an awesome place to shoot!

What's the yearly and daily run?

2 or 3 years ago it was 100.00 per year and then 10.00 a day to shoot and 15 a day for nonmembers.

That doesn't seem bad. I used to hit up a range west of Tea but I let the membership lapse. I don't remember what that one was for a yearly membership.

Benchresters is $50 a year. Only to 200 yards. Nice place to shoot though.

You can call and get on the waiting list.

No idea. When the economy tanked a few years ago I heard they had openings. Called and became a member.

Either way, getting on the list is the only way to get in.

I was a member there. but it has been at least 7 or 8 years.  I quit when for three years running they did not send me the dates and time for the annual meeting and my renewals stuff and at least back then it was a bench rest club the pistol side was at best a after thought.

I bounced around and ended up at Garretson and have been very happy there.

Garretson was my first. Fond memories.

Then Big Sioux. Beautiful place.

I'm only a couple miles from BR. I can hear if anyone is shooting so usually have it to myself.

Ha! Meltdown was cool enough to buy me a membership. Very nice.

We discovered Pickstown late last summer. Looking forward to spending more time there this year. Yankton and north of Pierre are where we usually go. We free dive and spearfish.

Not me. I love my boat. This one will allow us access to more places to spearfish and deer hunt along the river.

The one I have now gets scary out there.

By spearfish I'm guessing your mean SCUBA.  We did that every weekend from 12 to when I went off to collage.  What part of the river do you like we put in just north of pickstown.  We also did the tail races below the dam a lot.  Spearing walleye is about the only thing I miss about diving in SD.
Link Posted: 3/31/2017 12:41:54 PM EDT

Yup. We free dive, and aren't very good at it, but it sure is fun. Never have killed any walleye, plenty of bass, catfish, and all the rough fish.

We have been going to Oahe until we discovered Pickstown late last summer. Kind of a sketchy area, but once on Corps ground it is really nice.

Not sure where we will deer hunt. The whole river is lined with great land for spot and stalk stuff.

What kind of boat?

14' Monark. Extra deep and wide. Flat floor with no seat. 25hp 2008 Mercury.

Not ideal but way better than the Jon boat I have been using. Brought it home last night.

Thought it was appropriate to bring this back around. Is there anyone on the east side of the state that does metal engraving?
