I would really like to see this happen.  Don't see it, though.

MSP will scream and holler, just like they do every time doing away with registrations comes up.

Before tricky ricky would sign it they would have to add at least a $200. fee to the proposed law.

Yeah that's true about "Ricky".  He's an Anti Gun (R) and loves all the Money....

Hell if its like it was at Gateway he'll ask for more Money for his Quality Management skills, Grab his Golden Parachute and when things fail...He will leave and grab every Penny off the floor...

Snyder should have never been elected as  Michigan's  Governor given his History.

Too much $$$$ lost can't see it happen.

Ok, so if we did go no CPL in the state how would carrying in other states work that previously recognized our permits?
Still need a CPL?

IIRC they will still offer CPLs for that situation,  it's just that within MI you won't need a permit.

The MSP will fight as hard as they can to prevent that from happening. The legislature always seems to take the MSP's word as gospel and believes the MSP always knows what's best for us peasants.

Listening to MSP, you'd think gun crimes never get solved in states without registration.

An ex MSP at Jays Sporting goods working the counter told me that before too.

Also told me that Suppressors allows for the killing of people and no one would be able to tell where the shots come from "You can even shoot your neighbor and no one would know it was you or be able to tell where the shot came from" ... said all sorts of this bullshit.

Today, June 7, the Michigan House of Representatives passed a package of bills which would remove the requirement to obtain a concealed pistol license (CPL) in order to lawfully carry a firearm with a 59-49 vote.
House Bills 4416, 4417, 4418 and 4419 would also make the current licensing system optional to allow citizens to obtain a license and take advantage of reciprocity agreements with other states.  HBs 4416, 4417, 4418 and 4419 recognize an individual's unconditional Right to Keep and Bear Arms for self-defense in the manner he or she chooses.
Self-defense situations are difficult, if not impossible, to anticipate.  Accordingly, a law-abiding adult's right to defend himself or herself in such situations should not be conditioned by government-mandated time delays and taxes.
Twelve states currently have laws which allow law-abiding individuals to possess a concealed firearm for self-defense without a permit.

I just don't get how it is a felony in Michigan, but a misdemeanor or just a civil infraction in other states that don't have constitutional carry or allow carry in vehicles. Those states that allow people to carry don't seem to have this "problem" with officer endangerment.

Same old song and dance.

"It'll be Dodge City", "Blood in the streets", blah, blah, blah...

I'd love to be wrong, but that douche bag Snyder will never sign.

Put pressure on Brian Calley.

The little weasel wants to be governor.  Tell him if Rickey doesn't sign, you'll hold him accountable and support Shuette or Colbeck in the primary.
