Bought my first home, only moving a couple of miles away.

I own some pistols, rifles and a suppressor ... or do I?

I know the rifles don't matter but do I need to notify / update my address somewhere to cover my ass for the pistols and suppressor?

Cut a hole in the floor, install big safe, concrete around it, shut up.

No to the pistol.  Yes to the suppressor.

IANAL and I don't own any NFA items yet, but my understanding is that it is requested, but not required, that you notify the ATF via a Form 5320.20 when you make an address change in-state. It is required to notify the ATF via a Form 5320.20 when you make and address change out-of-state.

What rjbergen notes applies to most all NFA stuff. ATF doesn't have the authority to request notification for an in-state move.

With silencers and AOWs, you are never required to inform/ask permission before either interstate or intrastate transport / relocation / etc.

Inform ATF if you want. Nothing wrong with that. But it's not required.

I never let them know when I moved within the state. I have also purchased new NFA items since then & had them approved.
