Any restrictions on magazines or buying an AR online in Michigan? Sorry if it sounds stupid. A friend moved there recently and is looking to buy his first AR and messaged me with the question. Thank you.

No magazine limits whatsoever.

No limits on AR's other than standard NFA restrictions for SBRs.

In Michigan, pistols must be reigstered and this include AR pistols and SBRs under 26" OAL. SBRs over 26" OAL do not need to be registered as pistols. Any weapon legally registered as a pistol may be carried as a pistol. Rifles and SBRs not registered as a pistol must adhere to rifle laws and cannot be carried loaded in a vehicle.

Buying online is the same as any other state. If it's crossing state lines, it must go through an FFL.
