Well one of the in-laws just got  into shooting and has a membership at a local range in the Lansing area and wants me to bring up some of my toys when we visit. I know you guys got machineguns and SBR/SBS approved in the recent years but what about silencers? I am getting my traveling papers together to submit for next year and was wondering what I can bring up with me. Specifically I have a SBR ar-15 chambered in 9mm, and 9mm, .22lr, .17hmr, and .308 silencers. Also any local issues I should be aware of, or does state law trump everything?

Thanks in advance for any info!

You're good to go for NFA items. Everything is legal.

State has preemption so there's no local restrictions.

The Michigan definition of a pistol is one of our few firearm related quirks left. However, that shouldn't affect you as you're a nonresident and assuming you follow standard safe firearm handling/transporting procedures.
