part of the equasion is that opposing pitchers have been studying him pretty damn hard, and doing some adjusting themselves.
It's going to be interesting to see how Miggy changes up here and there, to keep them off balance.

That triple he just hit must have been a fluke.

Well crap!!

Alex CAN hit the ball when he wants to.

Dunno what kind of bug Sanchez picked up, but he needs to get rid of it.
He looked lost tonight, and seemed to be fighting control issues.

It's all up to Raj now....

ETA.

Well...it WAS a double, he got the tripple on an error, and if ya look at his numbers,  statisticly a blind wombat would have been due for a base hit.

I'll take it though.
He saved a run or two, keeping dirty Sanchez from getting charged with at least two buck wild pitches.
For every run Alex dosn't produce, he's saving two from the schitzo pitching.

WTF was going on with AJax and the Bunt? He's our base hit like clockwork guy and dosn't bunt.
Just goofy tonight.

I gotta catch the game in the Tractor tomorrow, so I was hoping tonight would be a win. Damn!

Yeah, it was a double.  I was in the middle of something and looked up and saw him running to third, so I thought it was a triple.  Thanks for the clarification. ;)

I'm really starting to dislike the instant reply delay's.   I find myself flipping channels and then losing interest in the games.  Approximately 9 minutes were blown on replay's during tonight's game...

Yeah it got a little annoying tonight.

Not as annoying as Dirty Sanchez hanging meatballs, but annoying enough.

What pissed me off was Shitcago losing both, and then requesting a review which they got anyway.

What the hell is the point of the challenge limit, if review requests are unlimited?

Welll....lookie who figured out what to do with a Baseball bat.

Alex has been working on things, I knew that, but didn't expect much more than a slight improvement, and the same old timid approach at the plate.
I hope he can keep it up. The new guys are carrying the load, and VMart is becoming boringly reliable.

ETA...

Coke tried to screw it up. Ausmus pulled his sorry ass before he could complete the job.

It's almost funny, if it weren't so sad. When Coke came in, I jokingly thought to myself "Ausmus surrenders!" (That was my line whenever Smokey would bring in Coke "Leyland surrenders!"). Then he damn near ass fucks the game.

It's time to release him. Let Justin Miller and Ian Krol be the lefties. What, is anyone concerned that they'll do worse?

It is nice to see JV back in form and to have Miggy heating up again. Jim Price tends to complain a lot when these guys aren't in mid season form and it started to grate on me.

No kidding, at least he didn't pretend to NOT have major control issues after hanging three big, fat, juicy, hanging meatballs in a row.
Papa didn't hid the fact that he was frustrated with himself and upset he was letting the team down.

Coke just adopts the "What?" expression when he's jerked off the mound.
Dude has to go...yesterday.

See. I wasn't optimistic that the Tigers would be a great team this year. Too many changes with all the different positions and a new philosophy on how to play the game. People are dumb and being homers when they thought the Tigers would transition to this season without skipping a beat.

The only real weak spot on this team is the bullpen, which is a weak spot for the Tigers every fucking year. Which change isn't paying off other than that?

Kinsler? He's doing great.

Davis? Again, doing great.

Castellanos? He's doing great too, for a rookie.

Romine? He's an awesome shortstop, makes all the plays and is getting on base better than Iggy would be.

The problems? Coke is the biggest problem. Krol isn't far behind right now.

Besides, it's still WAY early and the Tigers are still two games above .500.

Pretty much nailed it.

Miggy has been slacking...well, for Miggy it's slacking.
He's still not 100% from the surgery and it's obvious.

Romine is surprising. I was expecting a generic short stop, but he can be exceptional at times.

J. Mart is the one that is impressive. He's got HUGE potential.

The team will only settle in and get better as the season progresses.
The Bullpen is a total clusterfuck of epic proportions though. It's much worse than last year.
Coke and Krol are just the most obvious problems, but Nathan still isn't "Right".

Get the pen half fixed, and it's going to be another Division series win at least.
If not, life is gonna suck all summer.

the new guys are hitting and stealing base`s, Miggi will turn it on any day now,  everything is together, except the flipping bullpen, its going to be real depressing to watch games this year, getting into the 7th 8th and 9th innings only to watch the bullpen give it away, I really think they might make some moves for better pitchers in the next few months

Sorry. You're not goign to win fucking jack fucking shit when you have the statistically worst pullpen in the league. And it's sucked for a long time with just shitty half measures to fix it. Wow, we picked up Joe Nathan, big whoop, the dude is hit or miss any time he comes to the pitching mound. Everything else about this bullpen is a dumpster fire except the one guy who, as I said, is hit or miss some nights.

Damn...

The Bats woke the hell up all of a sudden.

Two innings later, the stench from the bullpen kicked in.

If it isn't absolutely obvious to Dumbrowski yet, it will never be.
All the offense in the world is useless without a Bullpen to protect a lead.

Friggin' twins almost caught up, and Ausmus went through everyone in the clubhouse except for the Bat boy...and I think I saw him warming up in the 9th.

It is good beating the Twins who've somehow been close to us this early part of the season.

But again. We ain't winning shit except the Central Division with this current bullpen. It'll be just like last year all over again where the opposing team will just work up the pitch counts, and then beat us in the latter innings. You can win with an okay bullpen, but this is the worst bullpen in the league.

Dombrowski is traveling with the team on this road trip. I was hoping Coke would give up a grand slam in that 5th inning. Get him off his ass and get some relievers for this team. Unfortunately, Coje's outing makes him look servicable.

I think that very aspect of the whole mess, is what drives me more than anything else.
Better but still sucky relievers have been sent down the river.

Walking in a run is bullshit.
Calling what Coke did today anything but an unmitigated disaster is just the hoplessness speaking.

Valverde in his day was lights out. Rivera was lights out. Shit, when Coke was still classic Coke, and not "New Coke" he was almost lights out, but that was 5 years ago.

He's gotta have midget tentacle porn pics of Dumbrowski..the dadgum Whitecaps would have sent him down the river to single A by now.

One problem is that the relief pitchers in Toledo all suck too. Jim and Dan went through the list of relief pitchers in Toledo and none of them has a walk rate below 6BB/9. That's a lot of fucking walks.

They're going to have to try and find help from outside the organization or they're going to have to start kicking some asses in the bullpen. I just can't figure out why, year after year, this team has such an awesome starting rotation and such a horrid bullpen, with the same pitching coach.

It was the same with the last pitching coach too.  He just happened to be the scape goat.  Seems like Jones has some incriminating photo's of dombrowski or something to keep his job.  Either that or he's spewing enough bs about the starting rotation that the bullpen doesn't matter.  Of course, until your starter leaves in the 3rd inning due to a blister....

Smyly has grown into a thinking pitcher with even more room to grow. He was impressive, and good to see throwing with confidence.
Hell of a job tonight.

Jobu needs to go. Quietly, in the night, just sneak out and never be heard from again.
Right now folks just hate the guy, but it's getting to be downright nasty and approaching torches and pitchforks time amoung the rabid Libtard fans in the South east corner.

Next time he blows a 2-3 run lead for a loss at home, I fear for him. It's still Detroit afterall.

There's only 4 days off until the break.
Meat grinder time, and where things can get downright hairy with injurys that bite us in the ass later on in the playoffs.
It's going to be interesting to watch Ausmus work around Coke or simply send the bastard packing.

Meh. Miller just needs more time to develop. Send him back to Toledo and bring him back next time we need a spare arm.

As for Robbie Ray, good debut! He will need to make another start for Sanchez, looks like against the Twins. Let's see if he can hold down a major league team. I suspect he'll be next season's front runner to replace Max in the rotation, so they should do with him what ever will best help him develop into a big league starter.

I really hope Ray starts again, and does as well or better, that will send a message to the bullpen, I really enjoyed watching Miggie last year with him smacking home runs runs, but i`d rather see him hitting like hes been hitting, base hits and RBI`s, I think the new direction the Tigers are going in will get us to the word series, still need to do something with the bullpen, at least announcer`s stopped talking about who will take fielders place, I think we all know who did, and fister has not thrown a pitch this year due to injuries

Don't forget the fly in the ointment with Reed.
He's still on the bubble, AND looking at possibly taking some time off for a trial if it comes to that.

I dunno if Max is going anywhere. He turned down the offer for the extension and is likely counting on asking for even more at the end of the season, based on his performance.
It's kind of hard to argue that he isn't worth more than JV, if his performance is better than JV's, and from the looks of it, it will be.
Dumbrowski should have taken his offer before season started. No way in hell is it a good thing to let him walk, and Ray will not replace Max, let alone Miller.

I hear about Ray against the Astros. They aren't much better than a good AAA team at this point, and proof will be him holding his own against the likes of Shitcago or the Twins.
He looked darn good with the control for 5 though. Darn good.
