Story is bogus, dunno about the bill itself.
"...Current law says that people who get caught carrying a handgun without a permit face a fine of up to $500 and possible jail time for the first and second offense". Carrying a heater without a permit is a violation of 39-17-1307, which can be a Class A Misdemeanor, where the fine can be $2500 and/or 11/29 in jail, and that can be given out for the first offense. - OS |
