With one evening I'd just walk around Broadway and 2nd Ave. Lots of live music and people watching opportunities.

Have dinner at The Palm at 5th and Broadway or Merchants at 4th and Broadway. People watch on Broadway and 2nd Ave. You don't have to be "into" the bar scene. There's plenty to do.
And, so there's no confusion about hookers and blow... the strip clubs suck and the cocaine is stepped on something fierce around here. |

If you're on an unlimited expense account go to Etch for dinner. Merchants or Puckett's if you're on some kind of limit.

eating some hatti's right now (i got the "shut the cluck up"  ). there's also pepperfire (also very good, love that xxhot!). oh and prince's (ain't been there yet)

Wish I had more time to spend in TN. I loved Nashville. I could never convince the wife but I could enjoy living there. Didn't make it to Puckett's but I had Rippy's downtown and Hatti B's hot chicken ( ) which was across the street from my hotel. I need to convince them to franchise one in Utah. I went with the mild but I'll step it up a notch if I get to go again. Another guy in our group had the shut the cluck up and he was regretting it in class the next day. Wandering downtown was fun even with the heat/humidity. Lots of good music. Sadly I didn't have a way to transport boots back from a buy 1 get 2 free sale. I did see Reese Witherspoon. She was downtown filming at Tubb's record store for a little bit. Had an hour to go through the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. Glad it was half price, I didn't find it all that interesting with the exception of Elvis' Cadillac and gold piano.
Grabbed some Bojangles on my run between terminals in Atlanta late Wednesday. For fast food, that was pretty good (and much better than Delta food). |
