THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Can anyone give me some advice on where to look for apartments in the Clarksville area? Or just rooms to rent for a few months. |

Just outside gate 7 there is a place that rents rooms by the week for a decent price.

No answer for your question, but I love Laumer's Retief! stories. They're currently my lunch-time reading e-book!
Welcome to Tennessee! David |

I have a friend about to move out of an Apt on 2nd Ave in Clarksville. You'll have a little bit of a drive and have to mess with traffic though. If you want the details i can give him a call.

Seems like plenty of apartments on Jack Miller Blvd right across FT Campbell Blvd from Gate 1. They look like they run from cheap looking to fairly decent looking. Hard to beat the proximity to post there.
If you don't mind saying, where will you be working on post. Civil service or contractor? I work at the Hospital. Swing by the mail room and say hi if you get the time. I take lunch at 11:00 and the hospital dining facility is actually pretty good. |

Going to check it out and see if it is really something I want to go do. But since the alternative seems to be working at Wal-mart, I will probably take it. |

Good luck. Hope you get on board and it's aGS-12 position.
My old coworker got into IT with the US military in Germany. Within 2 years he went from a WG-5 to a GS-10 and now gets to travel all over. He must have a good gig because he listed me as a reference and an investigator came to interview me about him for his security clearance. They typically just send a questionnaire in the mail for the routine stuff. |

Traveled down today and did a face-to-face with them and talked it over with my wife while driving back. We are going to accept the position. Sept 10th start date. Now starts the hard part. |
