THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I told his son Mike that I would post this. Tony was always nice to me, and I liked the man. I will always remember the first time I met him. It was at the first Camden machine gun shoot. I found out about the shoot fairly late in the game, and decided at the last moment to go. I didn't take any of my toys, Just a bag of beef jerky ( I didn't know anybody there, was just wandering around looking and making small talk ("Want some Jerky?") .Anyway, started talking to this guy with a table set up with machine guns and suppressors. Said his name was Machine Gun Tony. We started talking about some of the guns he had, including a shorty "Tanker" M14. He said "Wanna shoot it? I've got a spot on the firing line. Here, you'll need some ammo, too...". Who am I to say no to that offer? Fun gun but a beast to control, even with the fold down front grip. Not that I'm complaining or anything..... Had many an interesting conversation with Tony, over supper and/or drinks. I do miss those days. He fought many battles with the foe that finally beat him. You can rest now, Tony. You don't have to fight anymore. A touching story about your friend.
The next time you hear thunder and lightning.....it's your friend up there with an unlimited supply of ammo. |

I went to several of the shoots he organized back in the '90's and took the range officer's training he arranged at the Camden range for the American Class 3 Association. I always enjoyed the time spent with Tony and Mike. The barbecue dinner on the subgun range at KCR was always a treat!
God Bless you Tony! And prayers said for Mike and the rest of his family. |

Tony was a good guy.
And he fought that cancer like a lion for over a decade. HKO, the event you are talking about was Hank's Great Southern Freedom Shoot back in October 2002. I met Tony at that event, and after spending a couple of minutes talking to him, he made me and USMC_LB the safety officers for the guys taking his toys to shoot on the firing line. That weekend is one of my fondest memories because not only was it my first ARFCOM function, and I got to shoot alot of cool stuff, but me, LB, and Pappy also forged a couple of great friendships there. Here's to Machine Gun Tony, and to my good friends I met there at Camden.

Amen brother. Machine Gun Tony was the man that got me fired up to get into Class 3 stuff. That weekend at the GSFS you would have thought we had known him for years the way he treated HermanSnerd and I. He was a great guy. I will miss him. LB |

First time I met him was after I lived in Alabama for about a year, it was out at Swan Creek, I was shooting a .22LR target pistol and heard the full auto from the next range over.
He was testing out a conversion he did for a PD, and answered some questions I had about ownership since I came from a state that didn't allow it. He then let me shoot a 30 round mag through it. Something I hadn't done since I was in the army. So fast forward a few years later and I aquired my first NFA firearm an M16. may he RIP |

Didn't know the guy, but as a fellow American and gun owner, I am sad to hear of him going. He sounds like he was a great guy, and he is in a better place now though. With a name like "Machine gun Tony"...what kind of machine guns did he have?
