Hey everyone. I'm taking a trip to southern Utah in September of this year and at one point I'm going to drive from Bryce to Cedar City. Google maps shows three possible routes, taking the 20, the 143, or the 14. I don't need to take the fastest route...I'd actually prefer the most scenic one. This drive will happen during a day between some hikes, so when I say scenic I mean nice views from the car or at viewpoints. My feet will get abused enough elsewhere. I'd just like a nice drive with a couple of pit stops. So, which route would be best for such a tourist?

I would vote 143. Cedar Breaks is awesome.

If you can find it in your options to go check out Hell's Backbone (to the east), it's incredible.

Hell's Backbone is further east than we are going, but it looks awesome...maybe next trip? Cedar Breaks is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. It's a little over an hour from Bryce, so it'll break up our drive a bit and give us a chance to stretch the legs and see some awesome views. Thanks much for the tip!
