I'm currently driving with my dog from southern CA to Sioux Falls, SD for a hunting trip.

I just passed Las Vegas and would like to know if there are any legal, and preferrably free, areas to camp out somewhere off of I-70. I really don't want to pay the premium for having a dog that most hotels charge.

Perhaps somehwere we can do a day hike or something in the morning. I dont have to be in SD until Thursday afternoon.

Any help would be appreciated and I'll check back on here once I get to the St. George area.

Thanks.

Isn't your dog a service or emotional support dog? I thought it was discriminatory to charge a premium for them to stay with you anywhere.

Sleep in vehicle? Pitch tent at rest stop? I don't think Utah is very strict as long as you aren't being stupid. There is tons of public land out here. Also, it might be helpful to know where you plan to stop, though its probably too late now.

I have camped in the San Rafael swell. It's all BLM land. Didn't see another soul. Here are my 2 suggestions if you want to stay in Utah. The Indian flats is gonna be pretty desolate and easy to throw a tent out. If you are a hammock guy then keep moving.
