We are renting one and taking a week starting 8-23. Just the wife and I and 2 dogs
I have been several times in the last 25 years, lake is at 3615' now. We are going in from Bullfrog and heading downlake, probably no farther than the Rincon. I went all in and rented the 19' runabout too. |

No hanky panky until holes dug and boat anchored securely to shore...
The wind can and will blow. I have a boat on the South end.(cruiser) You fishing or just relaxing? |

Mainly R&R, as if I need any. We parked a 46' HB at the Rincon in 2013 and got lucky with the weather.
No wind, and really exposed if it did blow. Well, it did blow one time @ 0200 when 2 jet jockeys flew down the main channel at 500'. They were gone by the time I looked
I should try and find a more protected bay/canyon this time. I have a few ideas between Rincon and Bullfrog, you have any? |

I know of Cottonwood canyon and just across from hole in the rock.
Both have good, protected beach sites. Take a run down to the Escalante arm some nice scenery there, such as Cathedral in the desert, LaGorce arch. 3 roof ruin, etc. |

Don't know if you're into hiking or not but one of the best hikes on Powell is from the lake, up Willow (on the Escalante arm) to Broken Bow arch.
A running streambed all the way(at least as of 2 weeks ago.) |

I'm hiking a lot, soon as we get back I am going up archery hunting most of Sept.
Found broken bow on the map and will recon. Thanks for the tip. I have never been up the escalante branch, this is gonna be fun. |
