My family traveled from Western NY for our traditional skiing trip
to Utah last week. I understand it hasn't been the best year for you
guys, but if it's any consolation, it was actually a pleasant break from
the brutal winter we've been having in the NorthEast.
We stayed in a VRBO house in Cottonwood Heights, and the owners
were fantastic.
Even though we didn't have any fresh powder from Sunday to
Thursday, it was actually quite enjoyable to ski in the sunshine
and warmth after the -5 to 5 highs we've had. We skied Brighton,
Alta, and SnowBird, then went back to Cottonwood and BBQ'd in
t'shirts. It didn't suck !
Then to top it off, we finished off the week with another day at
Alta with a blast of fresh snow on Friday. Great way to end the
week !
We've taken this trip for the past 5 years, but this is the 1st time that
anyone commented on how friendly everyone is in your state. The
MIL/FIL travel to Europe, NYC, Seattle, and Florida quite a bit, and
loved how friendly and inviting everyone is in SLC.
Utah is on my short list to move to, though I don't think it can happen
until I retire in 5 - 10 years.
