Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Boulder Mtn.

looking to do some backpacking on boulder Mtn. in Early march.  Dot say highway 12 is open all year round but i was wondering how long the snow is gonna be around up there? not sure if snowshoes would be overkill since there hasn't been much snow this year. any help would be appreciated!

never been but they say"... Roads on Boulder Top don't clear until early or mid-June. Most Boulder Mountain lakes are closed to fishing from Nov. 1 through April 23 (check the current fishing proclamation)."

but it hasn't snowed hardly at all this year. could change but i'd guess there won't be any/not very much snow. might be cold

Couple years ago around March 30th,  I tried to drive over Hell's Backbone in my 4x4. We came upon a Honda Ridgeline stuck in the deep snow. We pulled them out, and both left the way we came.

You will encounter snow on every north facing slope, without doubt.
