Just got a letter from BCI.  Resident CFP is down from $46 to $41 effective July 1, 2014.  Time to update my training material.

One of the reasons I love Utah. Whenever I get in an argument with libs about government, I always like to compare and contrast historically conservative Utah and historically Democrat places like Detroit. They usually don't have an answer.

Non resident fees drop also?

Utah BCI received my non-res application on May 30th (sent cert. mail).  Nothing received back yet..  but, not even 30 days. I've heard it's about a 60 day wait. True?

Also have current WI (since 2011) & FL (since 2002) licenses to carry, both of which took about 40 days to process, so I'm used to waiting.

Thanks. I'm not complaining about the non-res fee... I think $51 is a bargain, especially when compared to FL. I was just concerned that a change in price might screw up my app, if the money order I sent wasn't the correct amount and it didn't get processed until after a change took place on July 1st (which would be only about 32 days into the process).

Our CHL in WI started at $50 in 2011, it's now dropped down to $40.

Surprise, surprise. My UT CHL was in today's mail. I mailed my app in on 5/27 (the day after Memorial Day), received by the BCI on 5/30 by cert. mail, in my hand on July 7th.  Awesome. 41 days mailbox to mailbox. Ironic... WI license took 40 days, FL took 42 days (both mailbox to mailbox)... UT fills the gap in between at 41. I wasn't expecting it for  2 or 3 more weeks.

I've been hearing from some of my students that turn around time has improved to the 40 ish day range.

I'll call them, but I believe they hired more people with the influx of more applications to meet the 60 day requirement set by the law.
