THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Will be starting on August 1st, so I'll be moving here pretty shortly. And I'm pretty fucking stoked....EAS was on May 1st, my base salary before bonuses is what I was getting while deployed, great company, and Wyoming is a very gun-friendly state from what I understand. Any information is appreciated! |

Gillette's on the down slope of an oil boom. Housing is expensive. Most decent looking women are taken. Can go shooting in the national grasslands nearby. There's a steakhouse at the Wright Hotel south of town that's fucking amazing. Can't really think of anything else. What kind of job?

Operations coordinator for an industrial rental company. Mainly from this location it's generators to the oil and gas industry, but they have the capability to get chillers, heaters, air compression, etc to any customer that needs it and can afford it.
Thanks for the input. My first pick for jobs was a position in Midland, TX; long ways away but aside from the size pretty similar with being a boom town full of dudes and not many women. I'll probably switch my residency as soon as I can so I don't have to pay out of state hunting fees this upcoming season. Should be moving out there on Wednesday, I found a duplex to rent in town until I save up enough to buy a house. |

Lots of money here due to the mines in the area. Not on a "down slope" by any means.
Not many stores for shopping...
Gun club is very usable plus there are other places to shoot around.
Houses are not bad but it depends on what you want. You can get a 2500 sqft cookie cutter house for $220-270k easily.
Want gun stuff? Best bet is T&T...but really I'd just go to Rapid City. |

You have to have lived in WY for 12 months at the time of the drawing to buy licenses as a resident. I'm with maleante, not a fan of Gillette, but it sounds like you landed
a decent job. Good luck. |

Congrats on your new job,and move to Gillette
It is true,as stated above, you have to have been a WY resident for a year to be eligible for Resident Game licenses. (Save your first utilities bills in your name, just in case) When you get your long awaited WY resident big game tags, STAY ON YOUR OWN SIDE OF THE MOUNTAINS!1111! ![]() |
