If I have any money left over from my AR pistol build, I am going to suppress my Buckmark and use it for grouse during my blackpowder season. We will see.

You might want to read the regs on using a handgun for upland game hunting, pretty sure only Forest Grouse are legal to use a handgun on. There was a time when it was common to carry a suppressed .22 for birds, but that was changed several years ago. Here is a link to the online PDF for 2011-2012 upland game . http://www.dfw.state.or.us/resources/hunting/upland_bird/docs/oregon_game_bird_regs.pdf RK edit: From the synopsis on page 12. 1 Rimfire firearms are allowed for the hunting of forest grouse only. 2 Shotgun: A smooth bore firearm, including muzzleloaders, designed for firing birdshot and intended to be fired from the shoulder, with a barrel length of 18 inches or more, with an overall length of 26 inches or more. ■■No one may hunt game birds with a shotgun larger than 10 gauge. ■■No one may hunt game birds with a shotgun which can hold more than three shells. ■■It is unlawful to hunt wild turkeys with shotguns larger than 10 gauge or smaller than 20 gauge or with shot size larger than No. 2 or smaller than No. 6. 3 There are no restrictions on the type of arrows or broadheads which may be used to hunt game birds. 4 Hunters may not use any electronic device(s) attached to bow or arrow. |

Yeah, I'm only going to use the .22 on blue and ruffed grouse. I'll be legal. A lot of people still don't know that ODFW changed the regs to allow rimfire for forest grouse like, maybe 5 years ago.

Pretty much always suppressed. Either the .308 (same AAC-SD as yours) or an AR in 6.5 Grendel. Varmints all get it suppressed as well. Pretty much the only things that don't are waterfowl and bunnies with the shotgun.

I'll have a suppressor on my rifle. If only my paperwork was moving faster, I could loan a can to one of my other friends that will be in the deer blind with me though....
I've been working on an SBR build just for deer season based on the .300 blk, with a total weight under 7lbs with the can that I'm waiting on (It'll be about 8lbs with my current .308 can). |

Yep. 300 blk will be my next deer rifle to go with that YHM can. Glad to see there are other hunters on board with the suppressed hunting rifle thing.

I didn't even know they allowed the use of cans when hunting- has it always been allowed or has there been a change in regs? I haven't hunted (outside of skunks, raccoons & feral cats in my yard) in more than 10yrs now. Sounds great but just can't walk all that far these days.
