Thanks for the info. I guess I just don't see the appeal of doing something that the goal everyone is waiting for is for you to puke....
What am I missing? |

There really is no way to explain it. I could tell you about how it tests your skills and shows you your weaknesses. I could tell you it's for the camaraderie and competition. I could tell you it's the food and beer or the awesome sponsors. None of that really explains it. I went to my first CW last year in Liberty. After that one, there was no doubt in my mind that I would be attending every one I had a chance to. |

I am so looking forward to this.
Hopefully, I won't p00p in my pants. And if I do, 00ps |

I'm psyched about it coming to Georgia. Been wishing I could make it down to Liberty for one but I haven't yet and I don't have any excuses. Right here in our backyard and I'm all over this.

What is the penalty for puking and/or not finishing coke? View Quote Depends on how you play it; you can chug a 2 liter + 5oz of chaser or a six pack. If you choose the2 liter and blow, its a 30 minute penalty. If you chug with cans it is 5 minutes per can not downed, or if you've gotten a can down and then puke it up without being told you're clear, that can doesn't count/is a 5 minute penalty. Just understand, you WILL puke. |

Some of these guys train pretty damn hard for this event, so a top 10 will be a challenge. Better start practicing the chug. |

There's plenty of raw materials at the Georgia CW site to build a caber or two!!! (hint, hint)
That's my favorite event to watch at the Stone Mtn. Highland Games every year!!! I have always wanted to try it!!! By dingies, if there's gonna be a caber at the SECW event, I might just have to don my kilt (skirt to you sissies) and join in!!! ETA: it needs to be cut ASAP so it can be drying out. A green caber is too durn heavy for it's length and diameter!!!! |

I think if we are going to add a caber as an obstacle that is probably a pretty good size to go with, considering 75% of competitors failed it. |

Starting to train.
Been back on Paleo since I got back from the Augusta Shoot at RedGoat Ranch. Dropped 5 pounds this week. Today started biking a few miles in my hilly sub-div. Trying to get at least 3 days/week cardio to start. Then will start the weight/strength training. Right now at 218, and want to get to 185ish. My 45 yo body will hopefully be lean and somewhat mean by the time CWSE gets here. |

Maybe I can shoot for: finishing without having a heart attack..... After 3 miles on my mountain bike today up and down a few hills in my division, I felt like I had run a marathon. Half way into it, I thought to myself: "if I don't have a heart attack by the time I get home, it will be a good day". My goal was to get my heart rate up for 20 minutes of cardio. Mission accomplished and then some. In high school, I was a 3 sport player, ran 2-3 miles 3-4 times a week and was 185 lbs. I graduated in 1989 and haven't done that since then. I just want to finish and feel good about how I did. |
