The range is closed to shoots until the work gets done. Same for the deer hunting.
Some of you have asked when you can come out and help out with some manual labor. Here's your chance! Sunday from noon until Monday afternoon. Unfortunately, this is how my schedule goes for the summer. Sometimes I get a day or 2 of notice, sometimes an hour or two. I'll take farm time anyway I can get it. Anyhow, if you're interested in blisters, chiggers, heat exhaustion, and getting dirty, let me know! Oh yeah... blueberries are in full swing, so at least you can pick some food after you get some water out of the hose. |

Can't help this weekend (camping with the family), but I'm going to IM you my summer schedule (planned vacations and whatnot). At the very least I figure I owe you some more manual labor this summer.

I'm free tomorrow, where's the property and what do you need help with?

Right now only Saturdays work for me - keep me in mind if you can use help on your next open Saturday.
Schedule might change in a few weeks. |

I'm free tomorrow, where's the property and what do you need help with? View Quote Property is by Union Point / Crawfordville. Shooting range needs some serious weed wacking, line clearing, mowing, trash picking up, and prepping for stage 2 backstop construction. Deer hunting.... a couple stands have played hide and seek (meaning they are so overgrown you can't see them anymore), fields need mowed, lanes need trimmed, couple stands need to come down... General farm work... carb work on a quad, pressure washing, gutters cleaned, trash run, lawn mowed, weed wacking, gravel drive maintenance, roads and fields need bushogging, garden and orchard need trimming, need a stand built for outdoor sink area - (started), hose repair, couple oak trees down that need to be cut and hauled, logs cut, firewood split, new canopy on the firewood shed, fuel run.... Anyone have a source for old 18 wheeler tires? (car/truck tires are not heavy duty enough). I probably need 50 or so for the next project. I know there is a shop in Madison by the tractor supply co, but I haven't stopped there yet. I only know where they are, not the name so I haven't talked to them at all. Also need 4-6 utility poles. I can buy them in Union Point, but thought I'd ask if anyone knows of a better source. I have a 16' trailer, so I can haul things if needed. I found tires. We are going to enlarge the 100yard backstop higher and wider. So a couple ton of sand and tires for the next range work day. |

I am looking at Friday and Saturday for the next trip. (Weather doesn't look good though)

I had another last minute work day Monday - Tuesday.
Mowed everything (again) Moved 16 more buckets of dirt to the shooting line, picked up 4700# of granite dust for backstop rebuild / expansion, got the sink placed on the posts that 400North and I set the last work weekend, and put 3000# of rock down in front of the sink. Food plots got plowed. I am thinking the 30th for the next workday. |

This place sounds like it's going to be a nice place when it gets finished. How big of a piece of property is it and what county is it in?

are there any materials you need or donations for materials View Quote I still have to get truck tires, a bunch of sawzall blades (18 tpi seems to work well on tires), and maybe another load of sand (4700# for $50) I could use a tripod deer stand if someone has one they aren't using. Otherwise... it's just manual labor. |

Yeah I've never made it to any you had previously. I used to be married to an evil woman. I wish I could have made it, that part of the state is nice. When do you intend on trying to have another one? I would guess sometime after deer season? |

It's fun to read the posts over on GON after one of those! "Sounded like a damn war!" was one of my favorites September and December are fine for a shoot. I just let the neighboring clubs know that we'll be stirring up the deer that day. December / January has a decent chance of happening. Hopefully you can make the next one! Im glad you aren't afraid to get your hands a little dirty. Another oak tree brought back to camp, fields mowed - plowed - planted, expanded prone position finished and seeded, tires collected for 100 yrd backstop rebuild, and some general farm work done. I found another nest of yellow jackets. Anyone want to adopt them? Oh yeah.... New bcg works fine in the Colt and the LAR-47 works fine as well. |

After we get this HTF meet out of the way I'd be glad to come help out. I'm not gonna know what to do with myself after it's over; we've been working 5 or 6 hours a day after work on the range cutting down trees, clearing brush, stacking firewood, etc.
