Disclaimer: I've never had anything mounted so I don't know how the business works or if some people do different kinds of work than others.

I came into a head elk mount a shoulder big horned sheep mount that need a little work.  The nose is cracked on the elk and some hair is missing on the sheep.

Just curious if y'all would recommend a specialist taxidermy repair person or do regular taxidermy people do this kind of work?

I'm in Athens if y'all know anyone nearby.  I'm getting them on Thursday and I'll post pics.

This was dropped off last night....  It's not a big horn sheep for sure but looks like a goat of some sort?

Just about any taxidermy shop should be able to restore it for you. Just ask around.

Ask to see some before and after pics of their past restorations.

What you have there is a Corsican ram. If the animal was taken in the US it probably came from Texas on an exotic animal hunt. That breed is fairly common on some of the farms in Texas and has adapted well to the environment there. Some people call them the Texas bighorn.

I believe the taxidermist mentioned in Roopville is Broderick Head. He does great work, I hired him for all my African animals, which I believe to be his specialty, his North American animal work is award winning as well. I have met a guy up around Winder that also does beautiful work but can't remember his name, I think I have one of his cards at home.

There's a guy in Watkinsville that is a taxidermist.  He's retired now but still does some work every now and then.
