I used to hike the trails in NC. Loved it!

Now, look what some group of sicko has done. Pounding spikes in tree roots on hiking trails so you'll step on them. The old VC "punji stick" deal:

I hope the local LEO or Park Rangers catch these SOBs--if I caught 'em--it wouldn't be pretty.
