OP I own some land in Chapel Hill and was surprised on Google maps to see a gunsmith working right down the road.
I DO NOT KNOW THE OWNER, AND HAVE NOT USED HIS SERVICES, but I did do some DD to check out his operation, and he gets very good feedback from his customers, to include build/mod/service on custom rifles. Pendergraft Gun Works http://www.pendergraftgunworks.com |

I've visited with Dave from Dave's Gun Works. He's not in the Triangle but in the Triad-ish area. From our conversations I would use him for a precision rifle upgrade or build.

I've used Joel of Pendergraft Gun Works for some cut and thread operations and he is outstanding.
He's also quite honest, so if he isn't up to doing what you need, he will decline the work or refer you. |

I had a 700 built by Ray at Precision Rifle and Tool. Great guy and he did an awesome job. Pic of my rifle is on his website under the Testimonials tab. I would highly recommend him. He built me the most accurate rifle I have ever shot.
