Got a buddy who lives in NC and has a trust with several MG's that we're left with another trustee in his home state(PA) whole he was stationed in California the last few years. Now he's stationed in NC and the sheriff for our county is imo blowing some up his ass telling him that he can't bring them here(claims he's very progun but will not even meet with you if he finds out it is for you trying to get him to sign off on nfa stuff)

I was under the impression that since they already legally owned by him, all he has to do is fill out the 5320.20 with the atf for permanent move across state lines, and after that came back he's good to go? I thought with the recent law changed regarding nfa the last few years, that the sheriff no longer has any say so in it if they're already owned items that are moving here?

Any help?

I believe there is a way around the permit from the sheriff by forming a trust.
