Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Target shooting in NC Highcountry (Boone Area)

Hey guys, anyone know where to go shooting up here near Boone, other than a range? I've found some state forest/gamelands in the area but just moved here about a month ago. I'd love to find some places to just go do some target shooting in the woods here.

Unless you find someone that will let you shoot on their land, Watauga Gun Club is about the only place to go.  

There's also a public range just across the Tennessee line on Watauga Lake.
