My grandmother left me 8 acres in Salisbury that has never been hunted.  I have a friend from high school that wants to lease it from me for hunting this fall.  Any idea what a going rate would be?

I know several farmers who charge what ever the property taxes are.

Most of the ones I have seen charge $10 to $15 per acre.

Property taxes are $500 a year, land is valued at $68k.  I was thinking of charging $150.  Was thinking more, but my friend is retired military.  Maybe I should just let him do it for free.

I would strongly suggest charging something unless he's a close friend.  And also you should look into the Landowner Protection Act. http://www.ncwildlife.org/Hunting/BeforetheHunt.aspx

Fill out the land owner permission forms.
