Hey guys, I am planning on coming up to NC for a rock concert in February and was wondering if y'all had any recommendations for restaurants I should definitely visit, and where a solid hotel could be found. The concert will be at Amos' Southend, so proximity to that would be ideal (unless the neighborhood is bad - I know most of the concert venues in Atlanta are in some of the worst parts of down town).

Any help is appreciated!

Amos' isn't in a bad part of town, it's just outside of Uptown.  The closest hotels I believe are in Uptown.

Food?  What do you like?  300 East is a good place...  It's located at 300 East Blvd.  
Lupies on Monroe Rd is good eats cheap...
I think they closed the penguin :-( some of the best burgers and onion rings in town.
Up in Noda there are a few good places but going the other way from amos'. I'd recommend caba fish taco..
Philosophers stone over by the hospital is good, bar and food up front, bar with bands in the back...
Ri-ras is a pseudo Irish pub in the Uptown area.

I eat in way too many restaurants while traveling for work, when I'm home I like to eat at home, but it's still hard to go wrong with price's chicken Shack..

Awesome, I am glad to hear that's in a good part of town! I'm used to having to being at defcon2 in Atlanta going from the car to the venue and back, haha. Since it's a good area I'll see if expedia has a deal on any hotels that might be within walking distance.

A place which has great burgers and a decent beer selection would be terrific, but really any local eatery that doesn't fail to deliver will make me and my friends happy.

I'm going to see Fit for Rivals/Framing Hanley/Adelita's Way/Flyleaf. Should be an awesome show! I like all the bands, but my favorite by far is Fit For Rivals. Charlotte is the furthest south they are coming on this tour, so that's why I'm making the trip. Most of the shows are up north or out west.

Beer?  Head to Taco Mac near south park mall.

Both these places are good.  I especially like Soul Gastrolounge.   Taco Mac is more bar food to me but the beer selection is great.  

Cow Fish is good as well near South Park

Stay at the Hilton downtown. You can catch the lightrail to the venue. It is only a block off the rail line.
If you like BBQ try Midwood. Near the Hilton walk to City Center. Lots of bars and food.

For the beer selection, hotel Charlotte on Sharon Rd.... It's not a hotel ;-)  Eddies place right next door is good eats.  The penguin closed, but for burgers try the diamond.
