It's now in their Stolen Firearms section..."lost" Glock 22.

I don't know too much of the back story but I don't believe it's stolen. I'm guessing maybe when he retired he had to turn it back in and then the PD traded the whole lot in at some point or something of that nature. And now he's just trying to get it back as a keepsake or something.

Thanks for the update. I changed the title to "lost" instead of stolen...but left it where it was since it's a specific serial numbered firearm.

Not 100% sure about this, but I believe that the FFL has to turn over their records to the ATF if they go out of business. Might want to try the nearest ATF office with info on the dealer and see what they have available. Good luck on the hunt.
