THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Dag is a couple years old, female, black and white with some black and white spots. Good temperment, pretty sweet, very malnourished and a little skittish. Pretty sure she was abused and dumped. Any help or advice would be appreciated!! |

Some nonrich wet food mixed with dry. A few toys. Some on your clothes sweatshirts ect that you haven't washed that have your scent on top of her bed. Flea treatment asap, not the collar ones advantage for her weight. Next a clock with arms and a second had with an audible ticking. By her bed or in one of the sweatshirts. Dogs are people animals and it will mimic a human heart beat and take away some anxiety if you have to leave her alone. Brush her out check for ticks, injurys around hips and ribs. Check the bottoms of her feet and pads for sores and cuts.

Check private animal rescue shelters. Maybe call Petsmart and see if they know of anyone? Good on you for saving the pooch. BTDT with a kitten and baby possums (yeah). It's a PITA dealing with it, but not the animal's fault.

We called every animal shelter in the area, every animal rescue, every private rescue we could locate. No one could help us untill after noon today. So, we got her a bunch of food, some water, a nice blanket and used the old dog crate and set it all up in the garage. She made a little nest in the crate and slept in the garage for the night. Definately house broken, she was waiting patiently this morning to be taken out to go to the bathroom. My wife has her now and is bringing her to the shelter in Jacksonville once they open. I hope she gets adopted by someone, she really is a sweetheart.

If you don't have plans for the dog food you bought her I'd suggest taking it along and donating it to the shelter, they always need stuff like that. Unless you meant you gave her human food, in which case disregard.

On Facebook there is "Lost & Found Dogs NC". They've had a lot of success reuniting lost/missing dogs with their owners. You just post a pic and description of where the dog was found.
Just an FYI for the future. |

On a side note, she just rescued a stray cat and now THAT is living in the garage untill she can get it well enough to travel and we can get it to a shelter. Thanks! |
