Now what do I do? Coming out the back gate of LeJeune the traffic was all blocked up on the bridge. Turns out there is a dog running around on the bridge and everyone was trying to avoid it. I stopped and tried to help corrall the pooch, and eventually she got stopped by another guy. He says he can't take her, so I pick her up and put her in the car to take her somewhere so she doesn't get mowed down by the idiots comin off the base. Called animal control and every damned facility i can find and no one can take her untill tomorrow at noon. I have a big, un friendly German Shepard Dog at my house, so I can't keep her untill tomorrow.

Dag is a couple years old, female, black and white with some black and white spots. Good temperment, pretty sweet, very malnourished and a little skittish. Pretty sure she was abused and dumped.

Any help or advice would be appreciated!!

We called every animal shelter in the area, every animal rescue, every private rescue we could locate. No one could help us untill after noon today. So, we got her a bunch of food, some water, a nice blanket and used the old dog crate and set it all up in the garage. She made a little nest in the crate and slept in the garage for the night. Definately house broken, she was waiting patiently this morning to be taken out to go to the bathroom. My wife has her now and is bringing her to the shelter in Jacksonville once they open. I hope she gets adopted by someone, she really is a sweetheart.

I have a dog already, a very large GSD. We gave the rescued pooch some of Nadia's food.

On Facebook there is "Lost & Found Dogs NC". They've had a lot of success reuniting lost/missing dogs with their owners. You just post a pic and description of where the dog was found.
