lots of places - just depends on where you are.

my office is up by exit 36, there you have a typical venue of fast food, chains and a few smaller places. the mexican place in the shopping center across 150 from lowes is good, as is joe fish.
down 150 heading west you will run into the lotus, good food.
not much at 33,

exit 28 should be a safe bet, it's been years since i stopped anywhere near there.

While I've only been there once, my friends really like the Rusty Rudder (bar/restaurant) right on the lake off of exit 28. If you're on the lake, you can pull your boat right up and gas up too.

Rusty Rudder is good, Queens Landing up off exit 36 is another good one.

The Rusty Rudder is hard to find and it is not "just off the exit." It's a mile it so. There is one tiny sign and you go behind an apartment complex. But on many Tuesday nights you'll see NASCAR drivers in there.

Epic in Mooresville is fine dining but off the water. There have not been any really good restaurants established on the water. I don't know why.

If you want to eat on the water go here North Harbor Cafe http://northharborclub.com/

If you want to party hit the Rudder

It's not on the water, but Mac's Speed Shop has some good food. It's off of exit 28. Bad Daddy's Burger Bar in the Birkdale shopping center is worth checking out.
